Is the new name for Andrew Garrett Vineyard Estates Pty Ltd

International Vintners Australia Pty Ltd will be the new name for wine producer Andrew Garrett Vineyard Estates. The change will take effect on August 1.

‘This will formalise a transition that has been in process for some time,’ CEO, Brenton Atkinson, said today.

‘The company generally has traded overseas as International Vintners Pty Ltd and within Australia as Andrew Garrett Vineyard Estates Pty Ltd’.

‘In keeping with the international success of our wine brands, the Board has decided that the new name is more representative of all our activities’.

The company is owned by a group of private and corporate investors. It was restructured two years ago with an injection of new capital and management, which strengthened the focus on overseas and domestic market growth.

Andrew Garrett remains as winemaker for the company’s brands, which include:

  • Kelly’s Promise - named in honour of wine pioneer Dr Alexander Kelly
  • Kelly’s Promise Reserve - premium wines from McLaren Vale.
  • Yarra Glen - from the company’s extensive vineyards in the Yarra Valley.
  • Ironwood - premium varietals sold mainly in the USA.

In announcing the name change, Brenton Atkinson said the company wished to make it clear that it has no association with the personal vineyard interests of Andrew Garrett.

“ We are a branded, customer-driven wine company,” he said. “And we are building a significant wine business concentrating on sustainable, long-term international success.”
