At the inaugural Good Taste Beer Awards held last week, Grand Ridge Brewery, a tiny microbrewery from the Strzelecki Mountains in Victoria, scooped the pool.

  • Gold Medal with Natural Blonde for the best wheat beer available in Australia.
  • Gold Medal with Black & Tan for the best dark ale available in Australia.
  • Silver Medal with Brewers Pilsener for the best pilsener category.

Grand Ridge Brewery is no newcomer to international awards and is now claimed to be the world’s most awarded brewery after winning 29 medals at the Australian International Beer Awards (AIBI) in 2002 and 21 medals including six ‘best of class’ (double the second best brewery) in 2003.

All beers are brewed with no added chemicals, preservatives or sugars and are simply delicious.

This week Grand Ridge exhibited at Fine Food Australia at Darling Harbour. It received incredible responses from restaurant owners and hoteliers. Major traffic jams occurred as large crowds queued to sample the highly awarded brews.

After 14 years in the Melbourne market, the beers have finally arrived in Sydney. They are making a serious impression with their ability to match all types of cuisine with their range of nine pure beers.
