Marchand & Burch Chardonnay takes top billing

18/09/2009

Marchand & Burch - a partnership between Howard Park’s Jeff Burch and Pascal Marchand, Burgundian winemaker ex Domaine de la Vougeraie and biodynamic champion – has received the James Halliday stamp of approval with a 97 point score for its 2007 chardonnay, according to the James Halliday 2010 Wine Companion released this week. This equals the 97 points awarded to 2006 Leeuwin Art Series Chardonnay and the 2007 Tucks Ridge from the Mornington Peninsula. The 2008 Marchand & Burch Chardonnay follows with 96 points.

The Howard Park Chardonnay 2007 and 2008 are also awarded high scores at 94 points.
